VIDAR FILM DIGITIZERS ENHANCE RADIOLOGY WORKFLOW SYSTEMS

Herndon, VA — VIDAR Systems Corporation, the leader in medical film digitizer technology, today announced that Merge eFilm has utilized VIDAR’s DiagnosticPRO™ plus and SIERRA™ plus film digitizers with several customers’ Merge eFilm FUSION Server™ solution. FUSION Server is an integrated PACS, Teleradiology and Web Distribution solution that create a filmless workflow environment, addresses the clinical imaging needs across the healthcare enterprise, and enables cost-effective, patient-centric care.

Merge eFilm’s Catherine McCallum, Vice-President of Professional Services, commented, “For more than fifteen years, Merge eFilm has leveraged its healthcare IT, clinical and engineering experience to create elegant and affordable solutions that improve the clinicians’ productivity and enhance the quality of care they provide. We have recommended VIDAR for several of our customers whose workflow required digitization of prior hard-copy images. VIDAR film digitizers not only give our customers outstanding reliability, but also provides them with a high quality, clinically proven solution, and an alternative to more expensive laser digitizers.”

Brian Beardslee, Vice President of VIDAR’s Medical Business, said, “VIDAR is very pleased that Merge eFilm is recommending VIDAR to their customers who need digitization of prior hard-copy images. VIDAR works relentlessly to provide the most reliable and highest quality film digitizers to the market. Our products offer superior image quality, reliability, durability, and virtually maintenance-free operation. We are pleased that Merge eFilm turned to VIDAR for their digitizing solution.”

Merge eFilm Press Release Page 2 VIDAR’s DiagnosticPRO plus and SIERRA plus digitizers feature the latest version of VIDAR’s proprietary High Definition CCD (HD-CCD®) technology and Automatic Digitizer Calibration (ADC™) feature, resulting in images that exceed the American College of Radiology practice guidelines for picture archiving and communication systems and remote primary diagnosis. The vertical footprints of VIDAR’s digitizers save nearly 50 percent of the space required by tabletop digitizers, and VIDAR’s SIERRA even offers the flexibility to be wall mounted, if desired. The design of VIDAR’s digitizers eliminates film jams and saves thousands of dollars each year in scanner calibration costs.
